The application of PLM in space launch service

product lifecycle management (PLM) was proposed in the 1980s. It began in the manufacturing industry, and its application has rapidly expanded from the initial product assurance program to the field of quality management and control, and achieved good results in the physical manufacturing industry. Based on the essence of PLM, it is a positive attempt to introduce its ideas and methods into space launch services

1 basic content of PLM

plm is a method of management reconstruction or reorganization, a method of managing information in every operation process of the product throughout its life cycle, and a process management from product demand to product obsolescence. PLM is a management and collaborative research based on product data set in its life cycle from product planning, design, manufacturing to sales. In the process of product production, we should try to shorten the production time of products, reduce costs, and meet the personalized needs of users. PLM integrates different business and engineering application data through data access interface, so that users can work together in different places, and can eliminate information islands between various data in product activities

cimdate defines PLM as: a) a strategic business method that applies a consistent set of business solutions to support the collaborative establishment, management and use of product definition information; b) It supports the expansion of enterprises (customers, design and supply partners, etc.) and runs through the whole life cycle of products from concept, design to scrap; c) Integrate people, processes, business systems, and information. plm pays attention to the management of the whole life cycle of products and the integration with other application systems. It can be used not only as the product data management platform of manufacturing industry, but also as the integration platform of other application systems. PLM includes the following aspects: a) strategically, PLM is a business strategy with products as the core. It applies a series of business solutions to support the generation, management, distribution and use of product definition information, geographically across the entire enterprise and supply chain, and covers the whole life cycle from the conceptual stage of the product to the end of its mission in terms of time; b) In terms of data, PLM contains complete product definition information, including all mechanical and electronic product data, software and document content; c) Technically, PLM applies a combination of technology and practice, such as product data management, collaboration, collaborative product commerce, enterprise application integration, parts supply management and other business solutions, and communicates with all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), subcontractors, outsourcing manufacturers, partners and customers in the extended product definition supply chain; d) In terms of business, PLM can explore potential businesses and integrate current and future technologies and methods, so as to efficiently bring innovative and profitable products to the market

plm is developed from product data management (PDM), which is the core of PLM. Based on software, PDM is a technical management that manages all product related information (including electronic documents, digital files, database records, etc.) and all product related processes (including workflow and change process). It can establish a parallel collaborative environment for product design and manufacturing within the enterprise

2 PLM system in space launch service

2.1 space launch service

in a sense, the products of the launch center are for space launch service. "One turn" is transformation: from traditional low value-added products to high-performance, high value-added products, the main services are: testing services, launch services, measurement and control services, communication services, meteorological services and logistics support services; From the time of receiving the launch demand delivered by the customer, to the satellite rocket entering the field for testing, measurement and control communication, joint commissioning, simulated launch, implementation of launch, early measurement and control, until the final processing and submission of various data and related documents; In terms of form, it is divided into various forms of services such as independent services and collaborative services, as well as technical support services such as various test data and judgment and decision-making. However, in space launch services, there are also decentralized storage of information resources brought by different departments or systems using different technology platforms, which is not conducive to the sharing and unification of product data; At the same time, in the same system, the same data is encapsulated or solidified in different data modules by the system using different formats or processing methods, resulting in data redundancy or data inconsistency. Through the establishment, provision and management of product collaborative database, PLM should solve the following problems: a) provide comprehensive and sufficient global information for decision makers, so as to facilitate the reasonable arrangement and scheduling of tasks, so as to maximize the benefits of various limited resources; b) Clarify the tasks and responsibilities for post personnel, that is, complete the specified tasks within a limited time under given conditions, ensure the smooth progress, avoid repeated work and time waiting between posts, and form a seamless link. 2.2 functions of PLM system

in each stage of space launch service, the technology of products (services) provided is different

a) when receiving the launch mission, the main focus is on the model and characteristics of the mission, and coordinate with relevant parties to carry out preliminary analysis and research and overall planning

b) in the mission preparation stage, the focus is on how to draw up appropriate detailed plans, organize and coordinate the testing of satellite rockets and the joint commissioning of measurement and control systems, as well as the change and commissioning of equipment station sites and software and hardware

c) after the completion of the launch mission, it is mainly to sort out and submit the data, summarize and evaluate, collect opinions and suggestions, etc. Therefore, the functions of PLM system change with the process and stage characteristics of product life cycle. The brief function distribution by stage is shown in Figure 1, and the framework diagram of all functions is shown in Figure 2

2.3 PLM system integration system

plm function system integration system technology includes two aspects: a) overall solution of business management model and data structure at all stages of product life cycle; b) Algorithm and software architecture to realize business management model and data structure

as a concept, PLM system integrates the data management ability of database, the communication ability of network and the control ability of process, manages all product related information and processes in the product life cycle, realizes the unified management of product data in the distributed environment, and thus gives an information basic framework. When building the system, it should meet: a) consistency control of product data; b) Integration and sharing of product data; C) Networking management of product data; d) Good integration and scalability. it can be seen from Figure 3 that the system can be divided into four layers: a) heterogeneous environment layer, including heterogeneous hardware platforms, network protocols, operating systems and other heterogeneous software and hardware environments, providing the most important underlying support of PLM system for database system and Aerospace Launch related knowledge base; b) The service object layer, including all the object services of PLM system and the application program of the client, exchanges information with it through the internal communication mechanism; c) Application logic layer, including PLM system integration platform and all subsystems integrated in PLM system; d) The interface presentation layer mainly refers to the user interface program running on the client, for example, the client program can be run through the web browser

at present, PLM system software, which is more mature based on Internet platform, Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) and Java technology, is based on distributed computing framework. The following is a brief analysis of the measurement and control system. The products of PLM system are mainly reflected in: a) maintenance data such as index test, virus detection and killing; b) Software version, ballistic loading, route change and other change data; c) Documents such as reports at each stage of the task; d) Knowledge base systems such as operation specifications, guiding textbooks, backup schemes, etc; e) Real time joint test, task operation and other process products; f) Task data, forms and other information after completing the task. Corresponding to these situations, the implementation of PLM system has the following characteristics:

A) efficient multi-level system application. The commander of the measurement and control system, the commanders of each subsystem and the operators of each post realize the collaboration of process management, and meet the requirements of automatic collaborative work; Realize the collaboration of data management among personnel in various positions to meet the requirements of correctness, integrity and consistency of data products in the whole life cycle

b) management of different life cycles. Implement multi cycle management for operation specifications, teaching materials, subsystem task specifications, etc., and regularly revise them according to the actual situation of the equipment; The mission trajectory, implementation plan, some mission software, display process, etc. should be subject to single cycle management and changed according to specific mission requirements

c) knowledge sharing management. The different nature of work makes the post personnel flow faster, which is of significant value to the effective extraction, accumulation, integration, management, sharing and inheritance of intellectual assets. We should pay attention to data accumulation and knowledge sorting, and integrate the sorted knowledge into the PLM system.
